Southway Housing Trust is a Community based housing organisation, based in Didsbury, managing and improving approximately 6,000 homes in South Manchester.
We are committed to ensuring that not only is our housing high quality and affordable, but also supports our aspirations to be a zero carbon organisation by 2038.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right person to deliver an exciting and ground breaking project as part of our Assets and Compliance Team.
Southway Housing are seeking ERDF (European Regional Development Funding) grant of £4.2m for a low carbon housing innovation project, which will see the installation of renewable heating, upgraded insulation and a programme of community engagement across a full neighbourhood.
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone with drive and passion who will engage with the community and stakeholders and clearly communicate Southway Housing Trust’s commitment to become a Zero Carbon organisation by 2038 as well as act as the key customer contact for the installation of renewable heating across individual homes.
The post will work within the community to raise awareness and develop strategies to embed carbon reduction across the neighbourhood and develop community champions who will continue to promote activities on completion of the project.
We are particularly keen that the successful applicant can demonstrate a good understanding of the following key areas;
•Community engagement and ‘buy in’ to promote the objectives of the organisation and individuals.
•The implications of becoming a zero carbon organisation.
•Recognising the links between increased quality of life through improved carbon reduction and green spaces
•The importance of tackling fuel poverty by improving the energy-efficiencyof our existing homes
•Improving the resource efficiency, and the carbon and environmental performance of our homes.
